Natural activated charcoal toothpaste
This is natural toothpaste made from activated charcoal, baking soda and coconut oil.
Commercial toothpastes contain a variety of toxic ingredients and colourings and as I am allergic to eucalyptus I couldn't have some of the natural toothpastes on offer.
I also wanted to try out my new bamboo toothbrushes from Mama Bear which are an eco-friendly alternative to the plastic alternative, they have nice soft bristles and I love the round handles.
I have been wanting to try this for a while but was too scared as it looked like it was going to be messy and taste disgusting and I'm not gonna lie, it WAS messy and did taste a little like farts!
What you will need:
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon activated charcoal
Mix together and place paste onto the toothbrush.
When you brush make sure that you try to keep your mouth closed so that you don't flick the black paste all over the place and make your bathroom look like you murdered a small alien (alien blood is black right?)
What I did was to spit out onto a tissue and throw into the bin as to not clog up the drains with the coconut oil that would harden once cool. Then rinse out under a warm tap.
Next time I might try a drop of peppermint oil or cinnamon.
Give it a go and let me know what you think :)
